Artdaily.com - The First Art Newspaper on the Net: "DENVER, COLORADO.- Time is running out to see Amish Quilts: Kaleidoscope of Color From the Collection of Faith and Stephen Brown. After Sunday, June 19, these quilts of bright, vibrant colors shaped into geometric designs anticipating modern ideas will leave the walls of the Denver Art Museum. The Amish are plain people who willingly isolate themselves and reject worldly things. Their religion limits pattern choice as well as color and fabric selection, and yet the quilts they produce as utilitarian objects appear as glowing examples of modern art. More than 40 quiltsmany never before exhibitedillustrate this intriguing paradox.

Tickets for Amish Quilts, which include general Museum admission, will be issued for a specific day and are non-refundable. Ticket prices are $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and students with ID, $7.00 for youth 13-18, $4.00 for youth 6-12, and members and children 5 and younger are free. Guided tours are free with an exhibition ticket; no reservations are required. Tours are offered Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 12:30 pm. Exhibition hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed on Mondays. "
