How the Amish build a "Real" barn

The Amish are the finest furniture craftsmen, I know because I own part of an online Amish furniture store (http://www.amish-furniture-gallery.com.

Here's a news story about the Amish building a two-story, 1,700 square-foot barn that's strong enough to last several hundred years.

They cut eight-foot poles and beams in order to frame the barn. The trees were Pennsylvania hemlock trees. Guess what? No nails. Everything was fastened using oak pegs.

All of the wood was pre-cut at the shop of the Amish company that built the barn, then hauled to the work site in a single trailer truck.

Here's the link to the story:

I've never heard of Amish Cheese

I guess the Amish are noted for making something besides furniture. I've never heard of Amish cheese as a commercial product.

If it's like everything else that the Amish make, then it must be good.

Here's the story:

Stealing from Amish honor boxes

Some people have no scruples or any moral compass. Stealing from an honor box at an Amish fruit stand has to be the work of a real scum.
Decatur Daily Democrat: "concerning the theft of money from honor boxes placed at several Amish produce stands throughout the county."

A receipe for Amish potpourri

I've seen a lot Amish receipes, but never one for Amish potpourri.

Journal Gazette | 09/12/2004 | Add potpourri to help make your house truly a home: "The Amish make a spicy potpourri by blending one ounce each of cloves, nutmeg, caraway seed, cinnamon and mace. The Amish use this potpourri in closets and drawers because it repels moths."

Officials OK Amish mental health facility

From my perspective, the Amish have a lot less mental problems than non-Amish.

This facility only houses 15 People. I think that supports my premise.

Check out the story.

News Sentinel | 09/10/2004 | Officials OK Amish mental health facility: "for a mental health facility for the Amish community, although some nearby residents fear the project would hurt property values.
Pleasant Haven would be a state-licensed group home for up to 15 people. The 8-acre development along Indiana 15 would be directly across from the Oaklawn care facility."
